The GCR Audio studio complex is located in the heart of downtown Buffalo, housed in the former chapel of the historically protected, 150 year old St. Margaret's Girls School. Opened in 1980, GCR Audio was originally known as Trackmaster Audio. Trackmaster was designed by world famous studio architect John Storyk (Electric Lady Studios, Jungle City, personal studios for Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Jay Z, Aerosmith, Green Day, Alicia Keys). During the 1980s and ‘90s, Trackmaster was the go-to studio for many world renowned acts, such as Rick James, YES, Spyro Gyra, Richie Havens, Melanie, Ani DiFranco, The Flaming Lips, The Barenaked Ladies, and the Goo Goo Dolls.
